My Story and My Motivation For Using This Tool
I love photography and have been wanting to create a personal website to start a digital photo journal and scrapbook of all my favorite pictures. Its easier than I expected and is a tool I am motivated in using while implementing my action research project on integrating digital photography in the classroom to enhance the overall process of learning in an educational environment.

R- This EMT (blog post 2) is definitely relevant to me because Wix is exactly the type of tool that I can use to organize information for personal as well as professional purposes. I like the way you described Wix’s features and how fast and easy it is to create customizable websites for free.
I- When you said that Wix could be used for “showcasing your classroom or fostering communication with parents” I understood that you plan to use this technology as a learning tool with your students and a means to keep in touch with their families. Have you tried it yet? If so was it successful?
S- You may want to consider familiarizing your students and their parents with Wix and its features by offering a tutorial at the beginning of the year.
E- Perhaps you can emphasize the benefits of this technology throughout the year by assigning your students a few projects in which they are required to utilize Wix. Creating a Wix website for parents to keep up with announcements and their child’s progress may also be a good idea for expanding on the tutorial.

Now this is a link I need to take an in depth look at. My Action Research is about the lack of Parent/Teacher communication and I’ve been looking for a website to use. This tool looks very interesting! I am also a fan of photography and I am always looking for new ways to broadcast and publish my “mediocre” work. I can see how this tool may be useful in and out of the classroom. When you mentioned parents ability to communicate through this tool, did you mean they could use it as well or will they only have a visual of what is on the website? If parents are able to use the tool by interacting with the website it makes it even worth the while. I’ve learned to see the appreciation parents gain when they too have access to the tools their children are using. There is another tool called “Glogster”. It is an interactive bulletin board that may also be used for both parents and students to stay on board with what the teacher is teaching. Great Findings!
